FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

BFLTRAIN’26 is a two-day diplomacy simulation conference organized by Baykar Science High School Diplomacy Club in order to bring together students interested in global issues and international relations.

The conference aims to enhance delegates’ critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, and teamwork skills while encouraging awareness of global challenges.

BFLTRAIN’26 is open to high school students. Participants may apply individually or as part of a school delegation.

No experience is required. The conference is planned to teach first timers since it's named BFLTRAIN.

BFLTRAIN’26 will be held on 18–19 April at Ibn-i Haldun University.

The conference will host the following committees: GA:6 LEGAL, UNICEF, NATO, Cabinet of Hasan Sabbah, and TDT (Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı).

Harvard procedure will be followed during conference.

Yes, all participants will receive a certificate of participation. Furthermore, the high performing delegates will be awarded by types of awarding certificates.

Meal and snacks will be served. Further information about accomadation will be shared soon.

As the Secretary-General of BFLTRAIN’26, it is a deep honor to welcome you to the inaugural session of our conference. This year marks a historic milestone as we open our doors for the first time under the theme: “Where Voices Shape the World.”

Our world is going through a challenging period filled with complex problems that transcend borders. As today's youth, we are not only tomorrow's leaders, but also today's agents of change. Diplomacy is not just sitting at a table and discussing; it is building empathy, reaching compromise, and constructing a shared future. “You run ahead, let the steam follow behind you” says, Özdemir Bayraktar. That is why, in light of this year's theme, we invite you to think outside the box and take courageous steps.

As the BFLTRAIN’26 team, we have been working diligently for months to maintain the highest level of academic depth and diplomatic courtesy in each of our committees. I believe that our agenda items, covering a wide range of topics from child labor to human rights, economics to defense industry, will both present you with an intellectual challenge and provide you with an unforgettable experience.

Remember that most effective solution is not the one shouted the loudest, but the one that embraces the widest audience. I am eager to see your determination to make the world a more livable place with the creative ideas that will emerge from these platforms.

Türk Devletleri İçin Ortak Savunma Sanayii Stratejisinin oluşturulması

Geleceğin savunma vizyonunu birlikte tartışmaya hazır mısın? Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı (TDT), 2009’da Nahçıvan’da Azerbaycan, Kazakistan, Kırgızistan ve Türkiye liderlerinin bir araya gelmesiyle kuruldu ve yıllar içinde Türk dünyasının ekonomik, kültürel ve stratejik iş birliği alanlarında güçlenen bir platform haline geldi. Zamanla Özbekistan’ın tam üyeliği ve birçok gözlemci ülkenin katılımıyla genişleyen bu aile, ortak tarihimizi ve değerlerimizi dünyaya yansıtmak için önemli adımlar atıyor. Bugün TDT, sadece geçmişimizi değil geleceğimizi de birlikte inşa etme kararlılığını temsil ediyor. Greenland Crisis

US President Trump's attempt to take Greenland from Denmark has triggered a global crisis and caused unprecedented ruptures in US-European relations since the post-World War II era. President Trump claimed that Russian and Chinese ships were operating in the region and that these two longtime rivals of the West intended to occupy Greenland, arguing that this posed an extreme threat to the island's security and therefore the territory should be transferred to US control. He also stated that this situation was extremely problematic for US security. Denmark and other European states, however, denied this, interpreting it as an attempt by Donald Trump to legitimize his intentions. It seems the world is heating up, and if you want to be one of the states that will shape this crisis, the NATO committee awaits you!

Legal Accountability for Ongoing Human Rights Violations in Myanmar’s Rohingya Crisis

The LEGAL committee will confront one of the most severe human rights crises of our time: the persecution of Myanmar's Rohingya minority. This crisis, rooted in decades of state-sponsored discrimination and statelessness, escalated to a catastrophic campaign of mass killings, sexual violence, and village burnings in 2017, forcing over 740,000 people to flee. UN investigators have described these acts as bearing "genocidal intent." Our committee will navigate the complex international legal landscape, examining mechanisms like the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold perpetrators accountable. Delegates will debate the challenges of achieving justice against political obstacles and non-cooperation, while addressing the ongoing plight of refugees and the urgent need for a sustainable solution. This is a critical exploration of whether international law can deliver accountability for atrocities and protect the most vulnerable.

Combating child labor in cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Millions of children around the world are forced to work under harsh conditions, instead of learning, dreaming, and growing safely. The reality faced by children in the mining areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo is not a local issue—it is a global responsibility. This is not just about resources or supply chains, but about human rights and dignity. As United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), we stand against child exploitation and believe that no economic interest should come before a child’s right to education, safety, and a peaceful childhood. Protecting children means protecting our shared future. We raise our voices for a world where every child can write their own story freely and with hope.
